We think this is an example of using whacky humor and "Most Interesting Man" tropes successfully; correct blend of all elements with a good payoff for the product.

How to Raise a Maker on KMOV
Check out my very first TV appearance! I was invited to show off some Maker inspiring DIY toys on Great Day St. Louis! I was terribly nervous, but Claire is such a pro she got me through it. AND Kent Ehrhardt called me Mom of the Year for my indoor catapult toy! Sweet! KMOV.com Love […]

Make This: Milk Carton Fairy Houses
My second grader came home from school one day all excited about fairy houses. Mitch doesn’t usually get into fairies and elves, though he has been reading Harry Potter with his dad lately, so maybe that has something do with his new interest. He insisted that we head out to the yard and build one, so […]

And it's of course, pretty awesome. Not long form music video awesome, but solid nonetheless. It's really very interesting to watch how they are starting to transcend the lines of being just another indie band with a music video gimmick and turning into creative production juggernauts. This is not their first flirting with brands - in their video for "Needing/Getting" they paired with Chevy and Gretsch Guitars.

Of course, sometimes I wonder why. Blog addiction keeps me from doing lots of other things. But yet there will be another post tomorrow morning, the 2,912th, a picture of Madeleine and a puppy. What could be wrong with that?

Graphic Means: A History of Graphic Design Production
A lot of documentaries have touched on this topic, but this looks to be the only film that focuses solely on how it used to be before computers. Pretty interesting or pretty boring? Guess that's determined by the amount of funds they raise on Kickstarter.

We’re looking for a very high-level Art Director and all-around decent person with two hands-full of years of professional experience in graphic design for electronic and print communications, packaging, marketing programs, and other media for clients (ideally a combination of B2B and consumer). Progressive design, strong conceptual, and a deep love for type and digital interactivity is wonderful, but even better is an understanding of how to work within a scope to produce real results for real clients.

Ruth’s Chris Clayton to Host Dinner to Benefit Special Spaces Next Week
Anglo-French Truce
The monarchs were happy to pose together, despite their usual hatred. Their majesties introduced themselves as Hank and Frank, so I assume they were supposed to be Henry VIII and Francois I. Peace at last.
Some of their retinue were hanging around, although few of them appeared to be battle-ready. The gentleman in the kilt appears to be out of order, guarding a couple of cases of bottled water. Anyone else in the parade would have been guarding beer.

"Rebuilding Together" - Heartfelt Short-Film for @RTStL by @90DegreesWest @HLKAgency @FedeleStudio
This short feature from local shops 90 Degrees West, HLK and Fedele Studio is worth the six and-a-half minutes of your time and thought. It goes a step further than most non-for-profit videos in really focusing on one individual and giving them the time and pacing it needs to feel as if you're really getting a full story. It wasn't until the shift half-way thru that we realized we were even watching a "commercial" for an organization.
Very well done work from everyone involved.
When strangers came together to help Matt, he had no idea that a single day could mean so much.
There are many more of our neighbors like Matt. Please consider volunteering: rebuildingtogether-stl.org*
*We're also big fans of the simple and straightforward website which we're assuming HLK was behind as well.
Agency: HLK
Studio: 90 Degrees West

#TheDress Internet Meme Used by @SalvationArmy as a Powerful Domestic Violence Ad
We desperately hoped we had heard the last of the white/gold or black/blue dress thing. But if it's being used in an amazingly clever way to help stop domestic violence - like in this Salvation Army ad by South African agency Ireland Davenport, then we're all for it.
