Bringing together the best of the city, the winners of ALIVE Magazine’s We Heart STL issue will join St. Louis top tastemakers, movers and shakers on Friday, May 29 at Old Post Office Plaza for a party that could be considered the unofficial kickoff of the summer season: We Heart STL Best Of The City Celebration. With plenty of entertainment, special guests and even a few surprises, your look should be inspired by summer and show off our fierce selection of locally purchased goods by honoring the We Heart STL winners in the best way possible—by supporting them! Below, we map out a few of our favorite looks and themes and give you a shopping list of where to buy similar items and/or where to shop for similar styles and craft a look of your very own. Take notes!
Early Summer Sophisti-Seventies: While we love a good bohemian look, move your affinity for the ’70s into the evening with a sophisticated look that is reminiscent of the ever-so-stylish Bianca Jagger.
Where to shop the look: BLUSH, Saks Fifth Avenue, Splash, Nordstrom and Sephora
Indie Rocker: For a look inspired by the entertainment of We Heart STL‘s live music act, The Free Years, go indie cool with an outfit that’s casual, yet still pulled together enough to stand out in the fashionable crowd.
Where to shop the look: East + West, Sole & Blues and Lindbergh
French Fête: If you’re feeling fancy, take a trip to Paris for a night with a look that is one part Carrie Bradshaw and one part Alexa Chung. Profite de ta nuit!
Where to shop the look: Vie, Ivy Hill and St. Louis Premium Outlets
Man In Black: When in doubt, wear black. Bonus points for creative layering!
Where to shop the look: Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Mister Guy and Taubman Prestige Outlets
Carefree Cool: It is the start of summer after all, so a cool look that screams “fashionista” is always a must. Try a creative color combination to pull things together in a flash.
Where to shop the look: Cha, paperdolls, The Clover and Nordstrom Rack
