Great news for fashion community-builders, event planners and creatives in STL: As part of its ongoing mission to support and elevate the local fashion community, Saint Louis Fashion Week is opening up its calendar to the community by seeking public submissions for innovative, creative fashion event concepts to be reviewed for inclusion in the Saint Louis Fashion Week calendar on Monday, Nov. 2.
The chosen concept will allow an individual or an organization to craft an event featuring local designers that will become an official part of the Saint Louis Fashion Week calendar and receive a $15,000 promotional package and access to the official press list. The organization or individual will be responsible for all event production expenses related to the event (venue, food/beverage, rentals, staff, etc).
Submissions will be reviewed in the first week of July. Initial interviews with top candidates will take place in July, with event confirmation by August of 2015. After this initial submission, standout applicants will be asked to present their idea to the STLFW team for final consideration.
Interested parties are invited to fill out the official event form here.
“Saint Louis Fashion Week has grown and evolved a great deal throughout the years, and we’re happy to continue this evolution by creating space on our calendar for the greater fashion community to really own and play a part in creating,” says STLFW cofounder Elizabeth Tucker. “We’re excited to see the creative concepts and ideas that emerge to continue the STLFW mission of supporting local designers and the fashion community as a whole.”
Saint Louis Fashion Week was founded in 2006 with a mission of creating a platform for national designers to reach their Midwest customers and local fashion designers to launch their careers. The carefully curated event series is the largest of its kind in the Midwest, providing designers with valuable resources and connections, which assist in the growth of their careers. The Saint Louis Fashion Week runway has showcased designers such as Rebecca Taylor, Tess Giberson, Rachel Pally, Black Halo and Eva Franco, increasing awareness and demand for these brands in the Midwest region. Each year, Saint Louis Fashion Week reaches more than 10,000 attendees and raises more than $10,000 for local charities.
