Fashion Insider: National Style News You Actually Want To Know

/ After Levi’s VP and head of global product innovation Paul Dillinger revisited the Lou for Saint Louis Fashion Week, I can’t help but have denim on the brain. The New York Times has echoed my sentiment with an inside look at Levi’s San Francisco development facility, Eureka Innovations Lab, showcasing a behind-the-scenes glance at how each pair is crafted by a team of 30 “mad scientists.”

/ For lovers of designer finds, the largest collection of Valentino couture to ever be auctioned will hit the block at Leslie Hindman Auctioneers in Clayton on Dec. 9. The garments include both custom and ready-to-wear lines from the closet of his personal lawyer and friend, Adele Bergreen. View her story and the stunning collection of garments online now.

/ As one of the most astonishing designers in today’s world, Iris van Herpen‘s creative process is a fascinating mix of fashion, technology and science. The Washington Post takes an intriguing look into her process: “She has ‘grown’ garments from magnetic fabric, pulled and twisted into something geological, organic and strangely beautiful … . She has created dresses that appear electrified and others that resemble water captured mid-splash.” The result is some of the most advanced work of our time—and well worth the critical acclaim.

/ Rumor has it that Bad Gal Riri has “quietly launched” her own hair, makeup and styling agency along with business partner Benoit Demouy. The Hollywood Reporter published an exclusive on the news, also sharing what talent is reportedly already on board, including “Rihanna’s longtime makeup artist Mylah Morales; Taraji P. Henson’s wardrobe stylist, Jason Bolden; and hairstylists Patricia Morales (Evan Rachel Wood, Fergie) and Marcia Hamilton (Jada Pinkett Smith and the Smith family).” Read the scoop on THR.

/ And just because we all need a little mid-week entertainment, I wanted to share one of my personal favorite YouTube videos that always snaps me back into a great mood—and makes me want to redecorate my living room. Do any of you have a passion for curtains that is stronger than this?
