Music at The Intersection is Grand Center Arts District’s newest summer music festival. Starting July 17 and running through Sept. 11, Music at The Intersection will bring together 50-plus bands in eight venues for free concerts throughout Grand Center, starting in Strauss Park. Local beer tents, street artists, food and drink specials are all reasons you’ll find us there. We’ve teamed up with the Grand Center Arts District to bring you 10 top reasons why you’ll want to add this unique festival to your agenda.
1. It’s Free
Grand Center’s newest music festival spans three Fridays and is completely free and open to the public. Can’t beat that.
2. Free Local Brews
Our friends at Urban Chestnut Brewing Company will be pouring free beer at each concert. Have you tried the Winged Nut or Zwickel?
3. It’s All Local
The music lineup is packed with local bands. The participating restaurants are all local and the beer? It’s sourced locally as well.
4. It’s Never Moving To Chesterfield
Music at The Intersection is a Grand Center, Inc. Festival in the Grand Center Arts District, incorporating Grand Center area businesses. Unless the earth shifts the entire neighborhood, this is one festival that will never move out to the ‘burbs.
5. Beautiful Weather And Outdoor Music
Each of the three Fridays will feature music in Strauss Park and other great venues. Look forward to a breath of fresh air after being cooped up in the office all day.
6. Music At The Intersection Celebrates America
Jazz, blues, hip-hop, soul, country and folk. Music at The Intersection’s lineup is all American music, and the summer is a perfect time to celebrate our great country and it’s musical contributions to the world.
7. It Celebrates Collaboration
Businesses and nonprofit organizations throughout the Grand Center Arts District are working together to bring summer fun to the city. Music at The Intersection is definitely a collaborative effort. Support collaboration and community effort by attending.
8. It Shows Off St. Louis’ Diversity
The amount of variety and talent in St. Louis alone will astound you, and they’ve packed a ton of it into one festival over three nights. See your best-loved local bands and be introduced to new favorites.
9. The Food
You can grab tacos from Lucha, burgers from Dooley’s and pizza from Vito’s all before washing it all down with a great glass of wine from the Dark Room. Enjoy offerings from some of Grand Center’s top spots.
10. Free Access To Some Of St. Louis’ Best Listening Room Venues
Jazz at the Bistro, the Kranzberg Arts Center and The Stage at KDHX might normally cost you a few bucks to see a show. Not during this free festival!
